It's Time to Start Thinking About Those Holiday Sales Goals

Welcome back to The Profit Makers Club, your weekly guide to turning your passion into profit. We're spending the entire month on one thing: making sure your holiday sales actually sell.


Hey Reader - We're halfway through August, and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably thinking, "Where did the year go?!"

The holiday season and Q4 are right around the corner, and it's time to start preparing.

I already know you’ve got big dreams for Q4, and you're probably already feeling that pull to get strategic.

But without a plan, it's easy to get lost in the noise and end up feeling overwhelmed and burnt out.

The "I need to do more" mentality takes over, and suddenly, you're chasing every bright, shiny idea.

Reader, this is where most entrepreneurs get stuck.

They have incredible products or services, but their marketing efforts feel sporadic and disconnected.

They're posting on social media praying for that viral post, sending emails without clear asks, and hoping something sticks so that they can hit their revenue goal and take a much-needed break.

It's time to build a sustainable system.

This year, we're not just creating a to-do list of things to complete to hopefully help you generate sales.

We're designing a repeatable "Profit Playbook" for your business.

My goal today is to help you create a clear path for your customers to find you and buy from you.

Here's a simple three-step approach to get your Holiday Sales Playbook started:

Step 1: Get Crystal Clear on Your Goal & Your Offer

You can’t hit a target you can’t see. Start with the one big win you want to achieve by the end of December.

  • Your Big Win: What's the one metric that matters most to you in Q4? Is it hitting a specific revenue number? Launching a new product to your audience? Getting your first 10 clients? Write it down.
  • Your Signature Offer: What is the one thing you want to focus on selling? This is your key to hitting that big win. Don’t get distracted by launching five new things. Pick one and make it shine.

Step 2: Choose Your Lanes (How to Get Seen)

Once you know your goal, it's time to choose the few, focused lanes you can actually show up in consistently. You don’t need to be everywhere, Reader. You just need to be seen by the right people.

  • Pick Two: Pick two marketing channels you're already using and get strategic. Whether it’s email marketing and Instagram or guest podcasting and your own newsletter, the key is to be consistent. This is NOT the time to launch a new platform. Instead, double down on what’s already working.
  • The OPA Flywheel: Don't forget about Other People's Audiences (OPA). This is a warm room where trust already exists. Think about showing up as a guest on a podcast, writing a guest post for a blog in your niche, or collaborating on an Instagram post with someone who has a complimentary product.

Step 3: Make it Easy for People to Shop with You

You've got your goal, you're showing up in your lanes, now let’s make sure people can actually buy from you without a headache.

Your "cash stream" isn't just about getting paid. It's about building a simple, repeatable and trustworthy system that makes saying "yes" easy for your customers.

Here's how you can focus on making that happen:

  • Simplify the Checkout: Take a critical look at your current checkout process. How many clicks does it take? Is it confusing? Get rid of any unnecessary steps. The fewer fields a customer has to fill out, the more likely they are to complete their purchase.
  • Ensure Safe Payments: Your customers need to feel safe giving you their money. Use trusted payment processors like Google Pay. Make sure your website has an SSL certificate (that little lock icon in the URL bar) to show that their information is secure.
  • Give Them Clear Next Steps: After a customer buys from you, what happens next? Do they get an immediate confirmation email? A thank you note? Make sure you have a system in place that tells them exactly what to expect. This builds trust and reduces buyer's remorse.
