💰 Profits:
This week's top news to keep more money in your pockets:
- If you're thinking about moving any time soon, make sure it's to one of these 10 entrepreneur-friendly states.
- It's tax season and that means 👻 spooky hours 👻 for most of us small business owners. Make sure you consider these key tax deductions so you're not spending all your hard-earned money with Uncle Sam. (Disclaimer: As a small business owner it's important to consult a professional when filing taxes. These are purely suggestions on what to keep an eye out for, but may vary per industry.)
- If you're a B2B brand or looking to make deals with larger businesses and corporations, LinkedIn is where you need to be. So how do you create a personal brand that pops and encourages leaders in these organizations to work with you? In my latest blog post, I share my 10-step strategy to a LinkedIn glow up.
🚀 Pointers:
Let’s talk about overextending ourselves.
I don’t know about you, Reader, but I often find myself in a cycle of wanting to help everyone who comes my way.
And while that sounds noble, it usually ends in extreme burnout, half-hearted work, and, honestly, resentment for saying “yes” in the first place.
That’s why my phrase for the year is “Build with Balance.” (Clearly, this is a lesson I have to keep learning.)
At the end of 2024, I took a step back to reflect on who I want to be, what I want to stand for, and the industries I truly want to be part of.
I like to call it my 🌈 personal brand refresh. 🌈
This clarity has completely transformed my approach to taking on new clients.
It’s helped me stay focused, take on projects that align with my vision, and build the right connections.
More importantly, it’s allowed me to identify revenue streams that pay me my worth—without draining my energy on smaller tasks that don’t move the needle or help me scale my business.
If you’re feeling stretched thin and unsure about your next steps, I’m hosting a FREE masterclass in 2 weeks where I’ll walk you through the exact process I used to refine my focus and get paid what I deserve — over and over again.

⚡️ Products:
As a solopreneur, it's important that I minimize the amount of tools I use, while also ensuring I get the most impact from them. Here's what's currently in my day-to-day tech stack:
- Manychat*
I've been actively using Manychat on Instagram for about 3 months now and it has truly been an amazing tool. Instead of pointing people to click the link in bio to access a website, event or resource, it automatically DMs someone the link based on a trigger word. This has truly increased my conversion rates and the engagement I've received on Instagram.
- Kit*
There's always a lot of chatter around which email platforms are the best, and trust me, I've tried almost all of them. For entrepreneurs who are looking to use email as a way to connect with customers and drive sales, Kit is the most affordable option I've come upon -- and their automations are literally what keeps my business running while I'm doing all the other things required to be successful.
-
Packsia*
I recently discovered Packsia as I was building out content for my new IG account, The Profit Makers Club. It's a high-quality stock video site. I use some of the videos as B-roll so I don't have to always show up on camera. A balance of on-camera content, and B-roll content has made it easier for me to post more consistently.
*Heads up: I may earn a commission if you grab these, but I only recommend tools I actually love and use in my business!
🔮 Predictions:
Honestly, I didn't expect TikTok to make such a quick comeback. But here we are.
So now the question is — is it here to stay?
President Trump has expressed his desire for Americans to keep using TikTok, but with one major condition: the platform must have at least 50% U.S. ownership.
Already under pressure from the U.S., ByteDance had shown interest in selling TikTok to Elon Musk. Given that, I think there’s a strong chance TikTok will stick around.
My next question is, will it be the same TikTok we know?
If Elon takes over, I highly doubt it. We’ve already seen how things have shifted on Twitter/X with hate speech and misinformation on the rise — one of the key reasons I’ve chosen to focus my energy elsewhere.
But until a sale occurs (or not), I’ll continue scrolling the platform, enjoying my daily dose of Wicked and Hamilton covers, celebrity entrances on The Jennifer Hudson Show, and, of course, all the adorable dog content.
